On December 5th we attended the Homestead Christmas Party. Great Grandma was alert and having fun.
Santa related the story of Great Grandma soon after she arrived at Homestead. At that time Sam (who was Santa's helper at the party) was working the night shift. Great Grandma was having trouble sleeping and would often be up past mid-night. One night when she couldn't sleep she came out to the kitchen area where Sam was working. She was only wearing her night gown and no house coat. They visited for a few minutes and then she asked Sam if he was married. He replied he was a newly-wed, having been married about one year Great Grandma looked at him and told him he should be ashamed of himself for being there with another woman in her night gown.
I believe Sam will long remember that conversation
